Paul's Biography
Born into a military family that encouraged education and a curiosity about the world around them. Raised in the Deep South next to a Marine base with different cultures, languages, religions, and educated by teachers with as many different backgrounds as the community. Became interested in whisky distillation at age 8 when I sneaked a taste of my father's bourbon and enjoyed the flavor. Spent 5 1/2 years in Europe on military bases and soaking up (literally) the local cuisine and beverages and learning about how the beverages were produced. At the same time I was learning how to appreciate the craft that created them. I am a Certified Specialist of Spirits with the Society of Wine Educators and currently trying to improve my palate at every opportunity.
