Michael Patrick Brewer/USMC

Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1948. Raised in Dixon, Illinois until 11 years old when  family moved to Tucson, Arizona. Educated in Catholic Schools. University of Arizona majors in Nursing, minors Philosophy and Religious Studies. Additional studies in Business Management with Bachelor of Science Degree from Tucson University. Post graduate studies in Journalism. Moved to Southern California in 2010 and currently reside in Crestline, California. Retired Commercial Property Manager in 2001. Married to Lydia Diane Benson with three children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.   

Served in the United States Marine Corps with 7th Marines with service in Vietnam in 1968-69. Founder and Past Commandant of Apple Valley Marine Corps League. Currently Veteran Service Officer and Chaplain. Life Member of Vietnam Veterans of America, VVA, Disabled Veterans of America, DAV. Marine Corps League. Member of American Legion, Veteran of Foreign of Wars and Rim of the World Veterans/ Chaplain.  

Journalist for the TucsonCitizen.com and Northwest Explorer covering Veterans affairs and advocacy. Currently a contributor to the Alpine Mountaineer for Veterans Affairs.   

Three decades of civic service, mostly in Tucson, as Chairman of City of Tucson Budget Advisory. Chair of Downtown Advisory Committee. Board Member of YMCA, Salvation Army and founder of El Centro de Tucson Executive Breakfast Club. Graduate of Tucson Leadership Council. Member of Toastmaster International. Vice Chair of Victor Valley College Bond Committee Troop Leader for Boy Scouts of America. USSF "B" Licensed Soccer Coach and youth coach trainer. National Coaching Commission for AYSO. Former General Manager and part owner of Tucson Amigos Soccer Franchise.  

Current activity remains focused on Veterans Affairs with Marine Corps League and Rim of the World Veterans. Retreat Leader with ElderWarrior.com. Member of California Writers Club High Desert Branch. Member of Heisler Community Theater as an amateur actor.
